The majority of household celebrations have got bbqing as their primary idea particularly throughout the summer season once the open air is actually pleasing. This is the time of the season when the majority of people would die to take a seat outside the house and relish the nice breeze and also the dry weather which they can't do over the winter season when it begins to snow and is also freezing. The wet conditions at the same time forces people indoors and causes it to be extremely hard to savor the outside. So when it's possible to spend an day outside then why stay indoors, even if just for meal. It is more preferable to make meals outside in addition to eating there as well.
Bbqing is an extremely well-liked means of eating and spending some time with your mates. There are plenty of tasty recipes to test out and also the meat can be marinated in numerous ways. If it's a potluck bbq every one can bring their unique distinctive recipe and this can give a variety of different food items. Keep all of the marinated meat available so that all you need to do should be to place them on the bbq grill when the celebration begins. When there is meat which might take more time to cook then simply put it on your bbq grill sooner. If there are too many guests then acquire a conveyable bbq grill to enable you to place much more meat on the bbq grill ensuring that you and your friends don't need to wait around.

The Art of Table Setting
How many of us have ever thought about the principles of setting a table? For the uninitiated, how you prepare a table is about nothing more than putting silverware and utensils on a table before eating, and if you are lucky, sticking a napkin under each fork. We may ask, what is so difficult or interesting about that? Yet if we stop to think about it, whenever we go to a major event, it is the way that the tables have been set that creates the look and tone of the hall.
Wedding table settings, for example, are supposed to reflect the romantic, exciting atmosphere of the evening. Each idea has its own style and look. A baby shower table arrangement will probably look much different from a Valentine day one.
Moreover, each culture and nation has its own ideas of what looks beautiful, elegant, or atmospheric. Asian table settings have their own distinct style, as opposed to an African dining design, and both of these differ from western table ideas. Even the different times of the year have their influence upon the way that you would set the table. There is such a thing as a Christmas Day and Halloween table settings, and more, each of which has its own stylistic message.
So what are the different factors and effects when it comes to setting a table? Take a look at the four "C"'s mentioned below and you will soon find the answers.
- Color: Whether you are setting the table for a home dinner party, a wedding, or a business lunch, the color scheme is important. What colors do you want the tablecloth, napkins, and silverware to be? Make sure that they either blend or contrast well. Clashing napkins and tablecloths can make any meal look very unappetizing.
- Centerpiece: An exciting, beautiful centerpiece does wonders for any table. A centerpiece can be a striking vase of flowers, a bowl of fruit, scented candles, and more. Depending on the occasion, the kind of guests you are having, and the general look, the centerpiece can really make or break a table setting.
- Creativity - A great looking table setting does not have to be expensive, lavish, or all over the place. Sometimes, it is the simpler kinds of settings that are the most successful. The most important factor is creativity. Think out of the box, and you may find that your ideas top anyone else's.
- Concept - When considering all of the above, bear in mind that your ideas should be based on a particular concept or theme. Once you have worked that out and created a central theme, it should be much easier for you to create the perfect table setting. For example, you may prefer country style table settings, a tropical theme, or a buffet kind of look. Once you have discovered your concept, your creative juices should flow.

Hire a Marquee for All Your Outdoor Celebrations
Marquees are the perfect solution for your space related problems. We often have happy occasions to celebrate and want to invite all our family and friends, but we find that our house becomes too small to accommodate all of them. In addition, sometime hiring a big venue too goes out of budget. For a close family gathering, you would like a much more intimate venue and all of these problems can be solved if you hire a marquee.
It gives you a lot many advantages to celebrate your happy occasion in your own and that too, within budget, because hiring them would be a lot more affordable than booking an entire outdoor venue. They are not only rented for private parties and weddings, but are also hired on a large scale for public events like fairs and charity shows.
Advantages If you want to put up a marquee than all you need is some open space. A garden or a park would be appropriate or any other open land that you can avail. Then you have to call in the marquee renters who would come and see the land for them and will tell you the shape and size it would fit in. If the ground is rough, then they will tell you to opt for aluminum sided marquees as they provide a better grounding on a rough terrain. Birthdays, weddings, corporate parties, college parties, whatever be the case, they can be hired on all occasions.
They give you the opportunity to enjoy your celebrations in good weather. Hence, they are great for summer weddings and afternoon garden tea parties. They also come with adjustable zippers so even if there is a sudden gale or you find the sun too hot, the zippers with transparent covers will keep everyone cool and comfortable inside.
In addition, a marquee is more or less like an open canvas. Its ceiling, can be done up to give a spectacular effect. The most popular of them of course, are the night sky, and a myriad of different colors can add to the club feel or a sober party.

Fun Things To Do In The Snow
When winter is on in full force, your choices of activities get narrowed dramatically. It's cold and dreary outside, but there is a bright side. With winter comes snow, and a good snow shower can make up for a lot of days of boredom. Especially if it results in you getting a snow day from school or work. The next step is deciding on what to do with your new found freedom from your everyday grind.
If you want to know all the fun activities to be enjoyed on a snow day, you have found the right article. I am going to give you the benefit of my personal experience and the experiences of many of my friends to make sure that your next snow day is the best yet.
First we will start off with the simple yet fun activities. The ones that need no explanation. First on the list is the always fun Snow Man Building, then Snow Ball Fights, and finally making Snow Angels. The most difficult of these is probably building Snow Men, but it is always fun to see who can make the coolest one. A tip for the Snow Angels is to have a friend help you up to keep out unwanted hand prints.
The next part of the list is all about snow sculptures and buildings. Some of these aren't so simple and I am including some instructions to get you on the right path. These structures include snow caves, snow chairs, and snow forts.
Snow caves are by far the easiest of these. To have a really simple time of it, you will only need a snow shovel and a spade or smaller shovel. To get started just pile up a lot of snow. Once you have it several feet high and several feet around, pack the top and sides of the mound. This will help to keep it from caving in later. After you are satisfied with the mound, start digging out the middle. Make sure to only dig the opening large enough for you to crawl through. Once it is all dug out, you can enjoy your new cave.
Snow chairs are probably the next easiest on the list. The biggest issue with this one is planning. You need to be sure that is is big enough and strong enough to hold you. The same tools will be used for the snow chair as the cave, just two shovels. The process is very similar as well. First you pile up a lot of snow, and make sure that it is large enough to be packed down to the correct size. After you have a large mound, pack it down really well. Then you start shoveling away the snow in the middle to form a chair with arms and a back. Once you have the basic shape you are going for, pack it down again well enough to hold your weight. Then you can enjoy your hand made snow chair.
Snow Forts take a little more skill, but they are still fun to make with friends. You will need the same equipment as with the cave and chair, but you'll also need something to mold the snow in. This mold could be a tupperware container, five gallon bucket, or something else similar. You need to fill your chosen mold with snow and pack it together really tight into a block. It is important to make sure your block is packed tight and strong so that your fort will last a long time. Then you need to lay out the bottom layer of blocks into the fort shape. Be sure to build it large enough for you and your friends to get inside. Then you simply stagger the next row of blocks until it is the height you want it to be. Then you can enjoy your fort and have the upper hand in a snow ball fight.

Facing Recession - Low Cost Ways To Have Fun
Recession invariably requires that you cut down on your expenditures. One of the first things to have the axe fall on them is entertainment. Spending on entertainment is easily avoidable. But this will mean boredom for your family. You will remember the proverb, "All work and no play will make Jack a dull boy." You don't want your family members to become dull and unenthusiastic. Getting deprived of entertainment completely can have several negative effects. People lose enthusiasm.
Lack of enthusiasm can have a telling effect on whatever we do. It will affect the quality of performance put in by you and other employed members of your family, making you more vulnerable to face the axe in the peak of recession. Secondly, dullness may lead to depression, the sufferings imposed by recession adding to the impact. These are not developments that should be allowed to take place. So, you should provide for at least some entertainment. But how are you going to do this with your shoe string budget?
1) Save some money by opting for substitutes: You can cut down a little on your food several ways. One way is to go for cheaper substitutes for some of the ingredients. An innovative way will be to grow some vegetables and fruits in your kitchen garden. You can use the money saved for entertainment.
2) Allocate a budget for entertainment: Budgeting becomes important during recession and may even become the bible to follow. One way of ensuring that your family does not miss entertainment is to provide for entertainment, even if it is to be the barest minimum. Though initially, you may be inclined to cut off entertainment completely from the budget provisions, after making allocation for other expenses, you can accommodate entertainment by shifting small amounts from some of the less important items.
3) Pay more attention to sports: Watching sports is not just an entertainment but a way of energizing yourself. The good news is that many sport events are free or inexpensive. You can enroll yourself and your family members in the cheering team of the local sports team and watch many sports events free.
4) Become active in local communities: Take part in community events. These will be relatively inexpensive. By actively engaging yourself in community activities, you can also gain popularity. Best of all, this will give you a lot of satisfaction and keep you energetic and enthusiastic, traits that will be highly valuable in a period of recession.

How TV Can Help Your Child Learn
It is suggested that children under the age of two should not watch any TV at all. Once children are around four years old, they can watch TV when supervised. Put on shows that are made for young children. Nick Jr. offers many cute, educational, and fun shows for younger children. These shows include Dore the Explorer, The Wonder Pets, Blue's Clues and many more. There are also other channels available so check what your cable or satellite provider offers. Plus, Barney and Sesame Street have been around for years and children still enjoy them.
The shows your children watch should cover topics like the alphabet, colors, shapes, numbers, expressing their feelings, sharing with friends, etc. Some of these shows even help teach children other languages including Spanish and Chinese.
If you expose your child to too much TV too soon, it can have negative effects such as increased chances of developing ADHD and obesity. They can also damage their hearing and sight if they watch TV at a high volume or too closely. Some people also believe children have behavioral and vocabulary issues from watching too much TV starting at a young age.
The key to letting your children watch TV is too wait until they are at least three or four and even then limit how long they watch TV and watch it with them. As a parent or guardian you need to be there to explain things that they might not understand. Also, you can monitor what the shows are teaching and if it goes along with what you are teaching your child.

Cups, Saucers And Table Setting
While you may not grab your best cup and saucer whenever you feel like a cup of tea, there are certainly times when you may want a matching set or two. For example, it does lend an air of gentility to set a table with matching cups and saucers when entertaining.
However, it is not always as simple as it may sound to set a table properly for afternoon tea. One thing that many people fail to take into consideration is the actual table setting itself and how it appears. In order for your setting to really look as sophisticated as it should you need to give some thought to matching cups with other accessories. While most people realize that you should at least have a matching cup with a matching saucer there is more than that to consider.
One thing to pay attention to particularly is the actual table cloth you use. If your cups are delicately decorated with a fine flower design, for example, you will not want to lay down a flowery table cloth as that can make the whole setting look too confusing or 'busy'. If you use a flowered or heavily patterned table cloth you would do best to use more simple cups, such as those that are all one color without any bold patterns. If your table cloth is patterned make sure that the cups you use complement the table cloth rather than clash with it.
Another thing that needs some thought is the type of napkins and napkin rings you use. For example, if your cups are rimmed with either a gold or silver ring you should have your napkin rings made with a matching metal color. While not essential, it is this attention to small details that can make all the difference with your basic table setting.
You may also want to consider carefully any centerpiece you have on the table. One common mistake that many make is to have one that is too tall set in the middle of the table. This makes conversing across the table awkward and causes people to have to peer around the centerpiece. Ideally they should be able to talk to one another without their view being hindered. You may also want to ensure that the predominant color in your table setting matches with both your table cloth and the color and pattern of the cups you use.
If you are entertaining quite a few people you may find that you do not have enough cup sets that match with one another. In that case it is perfectly acceptable to have a couple or more different sets of cups on the table, however please make sure that they are the same or a similar style if at all possible.

How to Fight the Winter Blues With Some Plastic Army Men and a Marble
Just about everyone gets the winter blues from one time or another, not only adults who find themselves stuck inside during the winter, but the children also. Usually children love being outside or at least a lot of them do, when your young you don't mind the wind, snow and cold as much as you do when you get older. Also children, can run around in the snow and don't worry about sliding or falling, they just get up, brush off the snow and continue running and playing around. As we get older we find sliding and falling a little scary, it seems it's easier to get hurt or to even break a bone as we age.
Now, this article and the information within it, is geared towards children, but there is no reason a parent cannot join in and do this simple, fun activity with their child. When I was a child, my best friend was a neighbor boy named Johnny. Johnny and I would go fishing, ride on the same School Bus, ride our bikes and go on all kinds of adventures together.
In the winter, when we were both home with nothing to do, we would often call and talk to each other on the telephone, then get together at my house, don't ask me why, but it seemed we mostly met at my parents house, then his, maybe his parents planned that, but I cannot remember anyway, as that was years ago. Back then, and I am talking about the early 1970's, we did not have video games, cell phones, microwaves and even satellite TV was a few years away. Anyway, my friend Johnny would come down and he would often bring a bag of plastic army men.
My parents had a large farm house and it was great growing up there, the house had around 15 rooms including a large living room. When my friend arrived, I would get my bag of plastic army men and we would both go into the living room and sit on the floor. We would sit our army men up facing each others men, leaving around 5-6 feet of empty space in between the opposing armies. Then one of us would start, by rolling a large marble called a shooter marble, towards the opposing enemy army men. As the marble rolled it would knock down sometimes 2 or more enemy soldiers. We took turns doing this into one person had no more standing soldiers, and he was the loser of the game.
Today, playing with a marble and some plastic army men may seem simple or foolish by a lot of children, but I guarantee that it's probably just as fun today as it was all them years also, and some plastic army men and a marble is a lot cheaper then video games or a computer. If you have young children and your worried about them getting the winter blues as winter approaches, buy them some plastic army men and a marble, this fun, but simple little game may be all they need to help fight the winter blues.

As people move from analog systems to digital systems, so are innovations in home theater furniture adding flavor to the entertainment industry.
Unlike the traditional or past days where people had to travel far from home to watch a movie or relax through other forms of entertainment, innovations in this area have made this a thing of the past and people are enjoying themselves at their homes. With a variety of choices from major manufacturers, you can get the comfort you desire as you watch the latest production.
Keeping in mind that you are likely to spend not less than two hours in your chairs, you should emphasize on quality & comfort when making your purchase. It isn't a bad idea spending heavily on up-to-date sound & video equipment, but it would be complete spending handsomely on home theater furniture.
One of the major innovations in home theater furniture is the development of furniture that serves all-size people. In the past, the big-sized people had it rough in their efforts to entertain themselves. Most of the furniture was designed for medium-sized people giving a hell of time to big-sized individuals while watching movies or even listening to music. The current chairs, for instance, fit all sizes of people.
One idea are wedge tables for placement between seats for well curving of the rows making everyone feel they have a fantastic seat. The modern home theater furniture has also been enhanced through provision of lighting making the appearance sparkling. Think of cup holders being included in your home theater furniture; it just so amazing.

An Interesting Article On Marquee Hire
Whether hosting a corporate event or a garden party, a marquee will be needed. For those in Wirral, England, there are many Wirral marquee hire service companies that will provide marquees and other catering facilities that will make an event or a function unforgettable. When choosing a hire company, one should make sure that the company selected offers professional services.
Professional hire services include professional installation services. The installation should be done by a professional. It is only a professional who will be able to install using the latest features like the pillar less aluminum structures. The professional will also install large marquees that can accommodate up to 300 people with ease and expertise. Marquees come in different sizes. Some can accommodate as little as 35 people while others can accommodate up to 350 people. They can also be combined to have a sitting area that can comfortably sit over 700 people.
The Capri marquee is one type that can be combined to create a large sitting area. The Capri is uniquely designed to facilitate an unforgettable event. The roof line of the Capri is eye catching. This marquee has a tensioned structure that eliminates the use of any guy ropes. This has the effect of allowing the maximum use of the floor space. For venues with large sizes and complicated shapes, the Capri can be linked together to create a practical solution.
Capri marquees and other types of marquees usually have adorable side walls that will add to the eloquence of any party. Some marquees have transparent side walls while others have white side walls.
For venues with large sizes and complicated shapes, the Capri can be linked together to create a practical solution.
Capri marquees and other types of marquees usually have adorable side walls that will add to the eloquence of any party. Some marquees have transparent side walls while others have white side walls. Marquees with white side walls are ideal for use during summer and in hot climates. The side walls of any marquee can be removed to reveal the stunning and dynamic sweeping lines of the marquee's canopy.
Apart from offering professional hire services, the marquee hire company chosen should be one also with a reputation of offering the desired services at very economical rates. Throw a Dracula Dinner Bash for a Frightening Halloween Party
All set to sink your fangs into a Halloween sit-down feast?
Step #1: Plan your celebration for the actual day of Halloween -- Sunday, October 31st.
If that date doesn't work for you, think about dining on the every bit as scary eve of the full moon on Saturday, October 23rd.
Step #2: Setting The Table
Orange, Black & white, and blood red are the traditional colors of the damned, which means that you should set your stage in accordance with that. Begin with blood-red, orange or black placemats or a table runner, all with coordinating napkins and napkin rings. Color- coordinated dinnerware will have monsters' mouths watering, and blood-red crackle-glass stemware delivers a gothic, medieval feel to your table. Designed for your centerpiece, load a tall container with willow branches that you have glittered, encircled with votive candles and fun Halloween confetti. For placeholders, use red apples with your guests' nametags skewered to the stems.
Step #3: Choosing The Meal
Oh, wait a minute -- vampires of the underworld never consume food! Which will mean you are going to have to get imaginative with a few blood-inspired dishes. Begin with a soup of cool homemade borscht (and never mind the gagging, it's actually quite tasty) capped with a spoonful of sour cream. Either good rare lamb chops or perhaps steaks (not to be confused with stakes) are usually always welcome. For a side dish, some spaghetti topped by a hot and spicy red sauce always goes great. Oh, and don't neglect a salad to keep the annoying vegan vampires happy. As a dessert, consider Red Velvet cupcakes with a yummy cream cheese frosting.
Step #4: Pouring The Drinks
Ah, it really gets fun now! You can make bloody-looking goblets simply by dipping the rims directly into corn syrup mixed with red food dye and then turning them upright to let the goo drip on down the sides of the glasses. After this has had a chance to set, fill the glasses with cranberry juice and ice cubes made with red food coloring (and you can even freeze plastic bugs or spiders inside them, if you dare). Or perhaps forget about ice altogether and just go with a good Pinot Noir, Merlot, or Cabernet. Everybody knows the undead really love their spirits.

Elegant Or Casual Dinner Parties? Your Guests Will Beg for More
The best dinner parties are intimate and memorable. The best thing about dinner party planning is that you really don't have to have much of a reason to have a dinner party other than getting together with good friends.
It's All about the Food
Hosts and dinner party guests all have one primary thing in mind for a dinner party - DINNER! The food is the focus and all the conversation, laughter, and stories surround and wrap the dinner in fun and memories.
Choose food that can take center stage with a great performance and with ease. Play chef yourself, involve your guests in food preparation, or hire a caterer. Just be sure the food is good. If it is, it might be a topic of conversation, but more often than not, it's the just the reason to come together. But, good conversation is the result. A bad meal can be a big spoiler however.
Interesting People Create an Interesting Evening
Invite just enough people to create a good conversation. 6-10 is usually a good number to have stories, conversation, and jokes volleying around easily and with fun. Just be sure your table will easily accommodate everyone comfortably.
Invite people who have common interests for an easy and comfortable evening. If you invite people who don't know each other well it can invite a stimulating and potentially lively debate of ideas. Both can make for a fun and interesting dinner party.
If someone is new in town dinner party planning just to introduce people is a great strategy. Be sure to plan some conversation starters before the dinner party begins. "Bob, was just elected to city councilman and Lois just moved here from Springfield where she was on the county board of commissioners." You could probably share some tips on campaigning and governing with each other.
Your goal is to bring a group of guests together who will enjoy the evening, the food, and each other!
Shine Up the Crystal and Polish the Silver
Treat your guests to your very best. Dinner party planning is a great time to "put on the dog" and let your guests know how important they are to you.
A pretty centerpiece can put the final touch on your table. Candles can give it an elegant and dreamy glow.
Move your dinner party around the house. Start with cocktails in one room where your guests can meet and get the conversation warmed up.
When you're ready to serve dinner move to the dining room.
Coffee, after dinner drinks, and or dessert can be in another part of the house. The family room, living room, pool, or porch are all potential gathering spots.
Make it Memorable and Elegant
Dinner party planning is easy. Keep it simple and elegant and it will be easy.
E. Ann Hill is a party planning expert with many years of personal and professional party and event planning experience. Her goal is to instill the #1 objective for entertaining - the host should enjoy planning the party and the party itself as much as his or her guests.

Amazing Mazes Made Of Maize
Talk about your tongue twisting title and homophone, maze and maize. You can eat it or get lost in it. Corn is another word for maize and during fall corn mazes are ever so popular. Maize comes in many different colors. Have you tried getting lost in a maize colored maze of maize? Definitely not for the claustrophobic or the directionally challenged.
One of the first corn mazes was started in Pennsylvania in 1993; it has since become very popular and financially sound as an investment for farmers. If you never visited a corn maze before, I encourage you to find one and take the whole family this Halloween season. It is inexpensive and lots of fun to be had. Mazes are typically open from September through the Halloween season and the average cost of admission is between 5 to 7 dollars per person.
Every year during the harvest season, all the young people at our church get excited and begin to talk about going to the local farms. Depending on the size of the farm you visit, these corn mazes can be pretty amazing. The maze in Philadelphia, PA started as a relief fundraiser for victims of the flooding in the area.
That particular maze was awarded the "Largest Maze in the World". It is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.
Depending on the size and the budget of the farmer, they can make their own maze, or have it professionally done. Maze designers use the latest technology such as a global positioning system also known as a GPS in helping them in their designs. The one our church attended, the theme and design was from the Wizard of Oz. This maze was about one acre in length. Such big mazes will have instructions, a map, and a flag provided in case you get lost.
You will become amazed once inside the maze. You are completely surrounded by high yellow stalks of corn. You can hear other people in the maze, especially kids laughing and running and guessing which way to go. If you don't have a good sense of direction and the ability to read a map, you can be lost for hours inside. I do not suggest going through the maze after the sun has set without a flashlight, for this makes reading the map very difficult. Lost in the dark in a corn maize around Halloween, the exact stuff that makes for a good horror movie yes?

Cornhole for Your Next Family Function
A family get together is a great time to build memories and create a lot of fun. You may have a family reunion coming up and if this is going to be an outdoor affair, you may want to consider using a Cornhole game to get your family to do something together and you may even meet family members that you have not met before and this is a great way to get to know all of the people in your family.
You can set up your Cornhole game soon after you arrive at your family event. You can then wait for people to come over and inquire about your game to get it started, or you may want to go and seek out people to play. You may find that there are many spectators and this is a great way to invite people to play and learn about the game and the rules.
You do not have to reserve the game of Cornhole for a family reunion and a simple close family picnic can provide a great place to play and practice Cornhole. You can take your board and bags to any park and start a game in no time and easily involve the entire family. You should make sure that you are making special considerations for your youngest participants so that they are not overwhelmed by the traditional rules. You may want to allow the youngest guests to stand closer to the board and this will increase the odds that they score points and keep them from feeling frustrated and giving up.
If you find that your family is especially good at the Cornhole game, you may want to consider finding a friendly tournament in your area that your family can participate in. There has been a growing movement in the popularity of Cornhole and you may find that it can be pretty easy to find others in your specific area to play with. You may be able to find great teammates and also make great new friends which you may not have expected.

Wedding Invitations Checklist
When planning a wedding, there are a lot of pieces of information that need to be given to each guests so they know what to do and what to expect for the event. The first step to be sure that everything is covered is to compile a list of the information for the specific event, and then proceed with arranging it. Keep in mind that spacing is often limited, especially considering the amount of information that must be extended to guests for such an important occasion.
Greeting: It is customary to begin invitations with a cordial greeting such as "Please join us" or "You are cordially invited to."
Parent/Host Names: In the case of wedding invitations, the host names are most often incorporated into the greeting, as they are generally the parents of a bride/groom that are hosting the event (ex. "Please join Mr. & Mrs. Smith" or "Mr. & Mrs. Smith cordially invite you to").
Couple's Names: The names can be combined with "and," or with any manner of wording that reads fluidly. Full names are always used (middle names optional).
Date: The day of the week, month, date, and year are generally all given.
Ceremony Time: This time indicates when the ceremony begins. Guests should arrive in advance.
Ceremony Place Name: The full name of the location, as well as any details such as the room of the event should be included.
Ceremony Place Address: The street address in general should be included. Depending on the guest list, the city, state, or zip may be optional. For example, if there are no out-of-town guests, it is unnecessary to indicate the state and zip code.
Reception Time: If the reception immediately follows the ceremony, it is still important to include "Reception to follow" in the wording. If the reception is being held on a different date, be sure to include BOTH dates, else send multiple invitations.
Reception Place Name: If the reception is being held at a different location, be sure to specify the name and room name if applicable. Otherwise, if it is at the same location a room name will work (ex. "Reception to follow in the Ballroom")
Reception Place Address: If the reception is at a different location than the ceremony, then the address should also be provided. If it is at the same location, the name will suffice.
Reply Cards: These are meant to help the guest communicate attendance to the host. The cards can be easily compiled as they are received, to avoid confusion of taking calls and missing messages.
Reply Date: Including a reply date gives guests a deadline that will be necessary to inform vendors of final head counts and arrangements.
Reply Options: Include options for guests to select whether or not they will be attending, and also if they will be bringing any guests.
Menu Cards: For plated dinners, guests will need to select the meal they prefer. Menu cards are used similar to reply cards for the guests to make their meal selections.
Menu options & number of guests: Include each dish available to the guests along with a brief description. The description need not be as detailed as might be found on a normal menu.
Self addressed stamped reply envelope: An envelope for a reply card and menu card, if applicable, should be included. It is best to have the envelope pre-addressed and stamped to provide maximum convenience to guests. They need only make their selections and put the envelope in the mailbox with no further hassle.

How to Be Entertaining
To entertain means to give hospitality as well as to interest and amuse. If people come to your country will you know how to look after them? Will you know what kind of invitation to give them? Will you invite the visitors to your home or to a restaurant? Will you invite them to stay in your home or arrange for them to stay in a nearby hotel? Will you expect them to bring a present for you?
Ways of showing hospitality are different in every country and I have decided to concentrate on "how to be entertained" in Britain...
People might invite you to their home or to go out with them for the evening. They might invite you when they see you or by telephone. However, it is still quite common to be invited by letter or by invitation card. The invitation will tell you what the occasion is, when it is and, occasionally, what you should wear!
Reply quickly. If the occasion is small then you can reply by telephone, but if it is a big occasion it is better to reply by letter. It is kinder to do this because it helps your host to remember and to organize things. If the invitation was by formal invitation then you might like to reply in a formal way.
In Britain, it is common to be invited to someone's home rather than to a restaurant. If you are invited to a restaurant, it is because your host is very busy, cannot cook very well, or wants to give you the enjoyment of some special type of good, or perhaps often invited you home and now wants to give you a special treat!
Business visitors from other countries are often invited to their British colleagues' home, however, sometimes it may be more convenient to invite a business colleague to a restaurant.
If you are invited to someone's home to have a meal, it is usual to take some flowers or a box of chocolates. It is not usual to take a bottle of wine unless you know your host well. Although flowers and chocolate are quite acceptable, it would be very nice if you could take something from your country.

I Should Have Been a Vegetarian
I was talking to a friend today and telling her about the first time I ever decided to have Thanksgiving at my house. I had invited thirty people for dinner and before I go any further, in the spirit of honesty, I have to admit that I'm a terrible cook. That said, it was sheer stupidity for me to invite a houseful of guests when I didn't know how to cook a turkey.
But it gets worse. The night before Thanksgiving, I put out bridge tables that went from one end of the house to the other and I put huge bed boards on each table to extend the seating capacity and covered them with beautiful hand embroidered tablecloths that had been passed down from one generation to another. The place settings were neatly aligned and my grandmother's crystal serving pieces sparkled on the tables.
The doorbell rang and when I went to answer it, there was this delivery guy from the flower shop looking all the worse for wear and tear. He handed me a gorgeous floral table arrangement and when I read the card it was from a friend who couldn't join us. The card said, "Sorry I can't be there with you but have a Happy Turkey Day."
I said, "Oh, my God. I forgot to defrost the turkey."
Anyone who has ever cooked a huge turkey to feed thirty people can appreciate how all the blood drained out of my face and my heart rate sped up so high I thought I was going to pass out when I realized that I had nothing to serve my company unless we had a miracle.
My miracle was my mother. In her calmest voice she told me to get the turkey out of the freezer and put it under cold running water. This was in the days before microwaves were invented and it seemed an impossible task that this huge frozen bird would ever be soft enough to eat.
I stayed up all night, rotating the bird under the cold running water; I only had a double sink and that meant the turkey couldn't be submerged up to its scrawny, stiff neck. I had to keep turning it. Or so I told myself.
The next morning I put the turkey in the oven. It felt soft enough to cook. My guests arrived. I put on my bravest smile and proceeded to serve everyone.
Aaaarrrrggghhh!!!! The insides were raw. The outside looked brown and edible but when it was carved, I could see the knife getting stuck inside. No hope. My guests were starved and I didn't know what to do.
Fortunately, there was someone at the table who suggested that we carve the turkey into smaller pieces and put them back into the oven at a higher temperature to cook faster. That worked. Almost.
In the years since that culinary disaster I learned a wonderful secret. For the first course, serve a huge Caesar salad with all the trimmings and French garlic bread that has been warmed in the oven and is golden brown and smells delicious. For the last course, serve a mouth-watering dessert and coffee with either Alka Seltzer or Bromo Seltzer on the side. And finally, hope that no one remembers what you served in between the first course and the last course.

Pool Table Furniture - Complete Your Game Room With Stylish Accessories
If you want to accessorize your pool table, consider completing your game room with pool table furniture.
Our game room contains a billiards table and air hockey table, as well as an old-fashioned pinball machine.
But when our friends came over, they'd have to stand and watch the games. That bugged me. I wanted our friends to come over and be comfortable, not have to lean against the walls!
You Can Shop for Pool Table Furniture Online
So I did a little research online.
Wow! There is a wide variety of pool table furniture available online, and since most people don't have a local billiards shop nearby, many of the online pool table retailers offer low or even free shipping.
What did I find for pool table furniture?
There are pub tables with luxurious spectator chairs, benches covered in leather, corner tables and half tables that mount onto the wall, poker-top pub tables, dart boards, pool cue racks and more!
The spectator chairs were particularly interesting because they were tall, like bar chairs, which allows guests to watch the games without having to strain to see. Many of them were covered in quality leather and included storage drawers under the seats to store poker winnings or other items. The spectator chairs even had footrests. These elegant leather seated chairs range in price from $189 to $349.
Another pool table furniture possibility was stools that could sit around a pub table, in case you didn't want to spend as much for the chairs. Stools come in a variety of styles, from simple black leather-topped stools to those that had your choice of team logos on top. Stools range in price from $119 to as much as $309.
The spectator benches were a nice surprise, since they offered a handsome leather top with lid that raised to reveal storage for pool cues, balls and other game pieces. The bench even had unique shelves on the sides, to rest drinks and pool cues while waiting your turn.
What Pool Table Furniture Did We Choose, and Why?
We opted for a stand-alone pub table and chairs combination, and a second half-moon pub table set that we could mount to the wall. These two sets included 2 chairs each, giving us 4 total chairs for guests.
We also sprang for one of the leather-topped benches. I particularly liked that the bench came with additional storage. The bench provided seating for 3 additional guests.
One other piece that we decided we need to complete our game room was a pool cue rack. We chose one that mounted to the wall, clearing up more floor space. (When you have little kids over, it helps to have as much off the floor as possible to avoid any accidents!)
I really liked that we could add quite a bit of seating with this pool table furniture and make the room look more like a pub. The room is in our basement, and the lighting is a little darker anyway, so it just made sense to go with a "pub-like" ambiance.
We spent a little more than maybe most would - about $2000 all told, but I am thrilled with how our game room looks.
I am especially thrilled with the fact that guests can come over and relax. I notice that friends are coming over more often now!
Tips and Suggestions for Finding a Good Deal
The first thing I would do is simply examine your space. How much room do you have? Is there room for a whole pub table, or do you just have space for a couple of chairs and maybe a half-moon table? Would a bench be better use of your space?
Shop online. You can get a good idea of what's available simply by looking at pictures and reading reviews.
Many online retailers are offering discount prices and free shipping on pool table furniture. After you find what you want, call them. See if they're offering any special discounts. You can even ask them over the phone, "Is this the best you can do?" Often the salesperson can offer an additional discount if you ask.
Check for clearance items. You can find significant savings with clearance, and online retailers will also list clearance prices on the internet.

Accommodating Extra Guests
Look around your home - is there any space that is not used on a daily basis? What about that spare room that has become a bit of a dumping ground? What better excuse than visiting relatives over the Christmas or New Year period to actually sort it out?
Work logically through the items you have accumulated and create three specific piles - rubbish, need and sentimental. Put the sentimental things into cardboard boxes and get them in the loft. Get rid of any paperwork etc that you no longer need to keep and organise the things that you do.
Once you have worked through your clutter, think about making the room multi-functional - this is space that you haven't utilised fully so make the most if it. Think about what would benefit the family? An office during the day come spare guest room or perhaps a kids room/den? - It doesn't matter how bizarre you might think the idea; if it works for the family then that is all that matters. Try to utilise a sofa bed when thinking about the seating arrangements - you can get some stylish, comfortable ones that come in handy on those rare occasions when you have a full house.
The main ruling in making any room multi functional is to keep the walls neutral and the window dressing and lighting simple yet effective - this will help to make the space more adaptable to its various uses.
Sleeping arrangements
If you haven't got the luxury of unused space then just be logical about it. When we had a family of four staying at our house, we gave up the main bedroom so that the family could stay together which helped the children to settle - the kids were placed on airbeds at the bottom of the bed and absolutely loved it! We used an airbed in the living room which we stored in our sons room during the day. Another year we turned the den into a bedroom for five teenagers -not easy, but it worked well. We also created some space for them in a wardrobe by putting some summer clothes away in a suitcase, a lot of work you might think, but our guests were staying for five days and we wanted them to be comfortable. Another year we put makeshift canvas wardrobes on the landing - cheap and cheerful temporary storage, purchased from Argos for around twenty pounds all in. We also placed lamps strategically around the room so that lights could be turned off without anyone having to get out of bed. We also splashed out on new pillows and quilts and covered them with luxurious bedding, throws and cushions making the whole room look very cosy and inviting.
The main thing to remember is that as long as people are comfortable, they are fairly adaptable so invest in a couple of good airbeds or a sofa bed. Just remember that wherever you place your guests, keep the kitchen and living room free. If the living room needs to be used, then sorry, but you will be the best ones to use it - this will help to avoid any unnecessary 'awkwardness' in the morning when you are waiting for your guests to wake up. Besides with a house full you'll be up early anyway - right?
Eating arrangements
Ideally everyone needs to be eating at the same time. Last year we borrowed my mums' dining table and chairs and crammed both tables into one room - it worked well but it wasn't the same as having everyone at one table. This year we are purchasing a large sheet of MDF and polystyrene sheeting to place over our current dining table allowing ten people to be sat round a table that normally hold six. Extra chairs needed? Borrow them! If you really are particular about creating a wow factor with your dining experience, then simply use white pillow cases to put over the back of the chairs and simply gather about half way down and tie with a big, luxurious ribbon. Same applies for all your plates, serving dishes and pans. See what you can borrow from the family and friends who may be spending Christmas elsewhere, again think about colour schemes if appearance is important to you. Alternatively, find some plates that can be purchased singularly - this year we have found some that match our dining set perfectly and for an extra four side plates, dinner plates and bowls we paid an amazingly fantastic price of forty eight pounds.
Getting ready
When you have a house full of guests, getting everyone ready can be quite a chore so give some thought to areas for doing hair and make-up. If you have guests for a while, it may be worth while thinking about an alternating rota - females cook breakfast and then get ready whilst males clean up, following day males cook breakfast then get ready whilst females clean up, and so on. Just make sure you have something to keep the kids and males entertained, allowing the females to get ready in peace.

Choosing Music For A New Years Eve Party
Hosting a New Years Eve party can be quite a challenge - you need to have the right combination of food, drinks, decorations, favors, entertainment and of course, the music. All these elements can determine the success of your party, but it is often the music that can really set the mood and help your guests have a grand time. Here are some suggestions for music for a New Years Eve party that can bring out the fun and excitement of the evening.
One popular option for music for a New Years Eve party is to hire a band. However, before you sign a contract with a band, there are some things that you would have to consider. First, make sure that you have enough space for the band to perform, especially if you are holding the party at home. A representative from the band should visit your place to check if there is enough space available for the band. Next, you should also check the noise ordinances in your area, since this may limit the music that the band can play. Another thing that you have to check is the song list of the band just to make sure that they can play age-appropriate music, especially if you will have guests of different ages at your party.
You can also hire a DJ if you want a wider variety of music for a New Years Eve party. A DJ is also a better option because most DJs are good at picking the music that appeal to the audience. They are also skilled in encouraging the audience to participate. You should still check noise ordinances in your area, before you hire a DJ. Although your DJ may know the noise ordinances, especially if he usually plays in the area, you should still discuss this with your DJ to make sure that he will not violate any of the noise regulations.
You can also try and be your own DJ, if you want to minimize costs. You can put your CD collection in a disk changer and set it to play at random. You can also ask your guests to bring their favorite CDs and take turns playing these at the party. This way, everyone gets to listen to their favorite music for thirty minutes or so during the party. Another option for music for a New Years Eve party is to access music from a satellite radio system and attach it to speakers. You can choose a station that plays upbeat music or music which fits the party theme.
Another affordable option for music for a New Years Eve party is to rent a karaoke machine. Karaoke can encourage guest participation which could make the evening more exciting. You can choose songs that suit the theme for the New Years Eve party or simply ask your guests to take turns doing their favorite songs. Consider the ages of your guests and make a list of the songs which may appeal to your guests. Do a few songs yourself to get the singing started and encourage your guests to loosen up and try their favorite songs.

Inexpensive Ideas for Entertaining Family and Friends
Over the years I am always amazed at how much people enjoy a simple bonfire. My son and daughter both have one in their back yards and use them through out the year. My grandchildren have been known to ask for bonfire birthday parties.
Both have what I call a "no cost" pit. They cleared out a spot among their trees, dug a small pit and placed a circle of rocks around it. My daughter even went as far as using logs for seating. As they both have wooded areas around their home, neither are lacking for something to burn. There are always dead trees falling or being cut down.
But if you do not have this asset you can use one of these inexpensive ideas.
[1] Pick up dried tree branches as you are walking around the neighborhood
[2] Tightly rolled newspapers: Wet your paper and layer them in 7-8 sheets, start at one end and roll tightly to the other. Lay them in the sun to dry for a few days. You will be amazed at how long they will burn.
[3] Watch for people cutting down trees and ask if you can have the wood. Most people will allow you to carry off all you can, especially if all you are taking is the smaller branches.
You want to always carefully supervise the fires, especially when children are around, but I've found that most people will sit for hours around that fire, talking or playing music or just sitting quietly. But you might want to try roasting a few hot dogs on a stick [kids love finding and making their own sticks] or browning a marsh mellow or two.
If you have trouble getting your fire started, place 2-3 marsh mellows around the wood pile and strike a match to them. They are mostly sugar and will burn easily. Their flames will starting your paper, kindling or dry wood quicker. Soon you will be eating and singing some happy campfire songs.
If you want to add some beautiful colors to your fire, buy a short piece of 1 inch copper pipe and cut several slits half way through the pipe, then place a piece of old water hose into the copper pipe. Throw the pipe into the fire and watch the fire come alive with color. The plastic hose will slowly burn but only do this if you are not using the fire for cooking. The chemicals in the hose and pipe are not good for you, so do not sit close to the flames and do not cook food over the flames. It's only beauty is visual.
Burning down your home or visiting the emergency room is no one's idea of inexpensive fun. Always keep a water source near by, just in case. You don't want the Fire Marshall to visit, so check for burning laws in your area before building the fire.

How to Organize the Perfect Backyard Beach Birthday Party for Teens
Beach parties are always in style, and anyone can easily pull off a great celebration with this theme. It doesn't matter if you live hundreds of miles away from the nearest beach, you can still be able to throw a party and make it work. This is an easy springboard if you are going to organize a party for older children, and even for teens. With the help of some uncommon, yet fun elements and a large dose of creativity, your backyard beach birthday party can become the best bash of the year.
Traditional invitations use simple paper, but if you really want your backyard beach birthday party to make a big statement, you would scratch out that idea and settle for a bolder option instead. Go to your local craft store and buy miniature jars or small bottles. Spray some water in sheets of thick paper, and carefully let them dry by placing them under the sun. This process would give them a water-damaged feel. Cut them in order to fit into the bottles and write down the details of the party on its surface. Slip them inside and close the bottle with a cork. You can also put pieces of shells, driftwood and sand inside.
Since it is a backyard beach birthday party, people might think that it's going to be Hawaiian. Skip passing the leis and choose a different focal point in its place. Your secondary theme can be all about flip flops or beach shorts. Settle for something that is not only timely, but something that all teens would love.
As with any other celebration, you need to have great activities for your backyard beach birthday party. Older kids tend to get bored without any games to liven up the party. Inflate cheap beach balls and let them play dodgeball. Break your young guests into two or four teams and have your own beach tournament. For those who would like to join less-tiring activities, you can set an arts and crafts activity section. You can organize Dress-a-Coconut and pineapple designing contests if you want.
You may want to serve a standard party fare in your backyard beach birthday party for teens, but there are a lot of food selections you can include that would really make your guests feel like they are sitting by the sea. Grilling has always been associated with the beach, but if you would rather serve simpler finger foods, you can serve pineapple pizzas. Aside from being delicious, they are also very simple to make. To make it more fun for everyone, let the teens customize their pizzas. You can pre-cook everything so that during the party, you only need to slip them inside an outdoor grill for a few minutes.
Decorations are important in giving the right ambiance to your guests. Instead of renting seats and tables, you can buy inexpensive beach towels instead and lay them down on the ground. If the weather is good and you are enjoying a windy day, you can also place brightly colored fabrics in poles struck in the ground and let them move with the breeze. If you have a pool in your backyard, you can place inflatable balls and animal inflatable chairs in the water.
Using a regular cake in a backyard beach birthday party may not seem like a good idea because you would need to concentrate on other aspects of the party. Instead of serving a cake, you can have marine life cupcakes as a better alternative. Vanilla-flavored cupcakes are really perfect, but to follow the theme, you may want to settle for an orange-based flavor since citrus is really popular at the beach. Decorate your cupcakes as cute little jellyfishes, or simply stamp them with a cool seashell design.
The party isn't over without any party bags. Place some goodies on net bags or toy pails. Aside from candies and chocolates, you can include affordable plastic toy sunglasses or simple bracelets and anklets made from shells.

How to Organize a Great Fairy-Themed Birthday Party for Girls
Every little girl dreams of having a fairy-themed birthday party at some point. Organizing it would definitely be a blast for you and your little princess because it won't just tickle her love for fairy-tales, but it would also encourage her imaginative sense. This is also the best theme to use if you are organizing a surprise party as well.
Making invitations have never been more fun. Rather than buying a generic invitation pack from a store, you can print out a cute picture of a cartoon fairy ring instead. Make sure to use a stiff paper so that you can decorate it with ease. Cut out the picture you've printed and write the invitation details at the back. Buy some glitter glues, plus small foam butterflies and flowers from a craft store. They are always available since they are scrapbooking staples. Take the glue and apply it to the edges of the invitation you've printed out before. As a finishing touch, paste the foamy designs to make it pop.
To make your fairy-themed birthday party really unique, don't use paper party hats since they tend to look cheap and boring. If all your tiny guests are going to be girls, you can make little crowns from a chain of flower in its place. Dress yourself as the fairy queen, with the celebrant the beautiful fairy princess. As each little girl would arrive, pin the flower crown on her head and induct her as a new fairy in your realm.
While you're waiting for all the little fairies to arrive, you can set a story telling corner. You can either hire or ask someone to be the official story teller of the party. This kind of activity will not only keep the children riveted for a while, but it would also set the right mood to your party. Of course your story teller shouldn't use standard fairytales that has already been told all over again. Prepare stories that would tell the adventures of the fairy queen and her daughter. There are a lot of online sources for these kinds of story, and most of them are even for free.
The right place for your fairy-themed birthday party is in the backyard. If there is a great park or woods nearby, they would work just as well. Make sure to invite an adult guardian for your guests though. This way, they would be safer if someone would supervise them closely. These settings are perfect because the different foliage would give your party the right ambiance. If you are going to use child-size chairs and tables to the party, decorate them to look like giant toadstools and flowers. If you are going to have the party late in the afternoon, hanging some paper lamps around trees and shrubs would also make it more spectacular.
Preparing the right food for a fairy-themed birthday party is really easy because you won't really have to serve complicated dishes. Snack food like cookies and sandwiches are really great for this kind of theme. Be sure to decorate them with edible glitters to give them that fairy-like glow. If you want to serve something a little more filling, mini meat pies would look well with the rest of the menu. For dessert, you can either serve a fruit parfait or frozen yogurt topped with berries.
Cupcakes would suit well instead of serving a large cake. Since you are most likely going to have the party outside, cupcakes are more convenient because they are less cumbersome. Any flavor would go well with the theme, but since you are catering to little girls, you might want to choose red velvet or chocolate. Just like your chairs and tables, you can decorate them to look like toadstools as well. It's really easy since you only have to place your toadstool icing at the top. To complete the look, place pieces of chocolate rocks at the base and pipe in some green grass.

Treasure Hunt Game For Kids
To most parents, an upcoming birthday party for one of their kids means at least a week of stress and anxiety. It is just like a Treasure Hunt for them. This is your kid's most important day of the year, full of expectations, and it is only up to you to fulfill their wishes. This means inviting friends, planning activities, snacks and gifts; many time-consuming tasks for an overworked parent. Maybe the hardest task is to find ways to entertain young kids for a good two hours, without anyone getting bored or frustrated, which could be a disaster, especially when younger kids (three to eight years old) are involved. This article gives some great ideas for activities for kids of various ages.
Let the kids entertain themselves
There are several great activities, which can keep kids busy and laughing for a long time. Of course you have to fit the activity to the kids' age group. Most of these activities are competitive games which keep several kids busy while the others watch and cheer. Here are a few examples:
Have a potato-sack-race: You know this from when you were a kid - Several kids in each heat stand inside a big sack and run back and forth.
Have an egg-race: Each kid gets a spoon and an egg and they all need to run holding the spoon with the egg laying inside the spoon without dropping it on the way. This could get messy!
Have a quiz: this can fit older kids as well, with a change of topic. Pick out the kids' favorite topic and have a quiz. You should have small prizes to reward success.
Host a sing-along. The kids can sing along with some music to well-known songs. For older kids, you might consider turning this into a Karaoke.
Treasure hunts and scavenger hunts
One of our favorite activities for kids of all ages is a treasure hunt or scavenger hunt. In this game the kids, either in one group or several groups competing against each other, follow a trail of clues (riddles and puzzles) each pointing to the hiding location of the next clue until finally arriving at the treasure.
Treasure hunt is a very exciting game which can be played with kids of all ages and can be played either in the house, the back yard or at almost any location. This game is so great because it has more than one thrill element: the kids both need to solve riddles and puzzles and to seek the hiding locations of the next clues, and finally the treasure.
Of course the hardest part of hosting the treasure hunt is the preparation of the game. You need to think up riddles and puzzles, prepare them and to hide them before the game begins. The upside is that once treasure hunt starts, the kids can keep themselves busy for as much as an hour or even more.
A scavenger hunt is a bit easier to make. This is the simpler form of the game, in scavenger hunt there are no clues and riddles to solve, but it contains only the search part of the game. Scavenger hunt is good for very young kids who cannot solve Treasure hunt puzzles yet.

How to Decide Whether to Eat-In Or Dine-Out
On the top of every entertainment guide is a directory of hundreds of places to eat. People like to go out and enjoy being with loved ones with a cooked meal, contemporary music in the background while being looked after and served by a friendly waiter.
Every city and every small town dedicates a small section of their streets to eateries, diners, cafes, bars and restaurants in the hopes of showing off great entertainment and a sense of style within the community.
Finding the right place to eat can be a struggle. It can involve driving up and down the street then picking out the best looking establishment, or it might mean strolling the streets reading through every menu to get a feel for what takes your interest.
Picking the best place can be tricky. Depending if you are a food fanatic or a style hunter, choosing which restaurant to walk into can be a tough decision. The look of the place may entice you to get amongst the vibe, but looks can be deceiving. You may be left with a meal you will never forget. In a bad way that is.
On the other hand you may innocently walk past a slightly rundown pre-1900's building and unknowingly give up the best Lamb Shanks and creamy potato completely.
Don't be fooled by appearances, and avoid judging how something tastes by its price. Buying a more expensive bottle of water doesn't taste any different to a cheaper one does it?
For out of town visitors the option of asking for a friend's recommendation is not always available. Talking to the waiters firsthand and finding out the most popular dishes and what they would promote as the 'special of the day' might be something worth trying however, this is not always a guaranteed success as some waiting staff are excellent with their adjectives and emotive language but not so excellent in being able to back it up by bringing you a sensational dish.
Aside from the food and from being waited on, people choose to go out for a meal just for the atmosphere. Atmosphere merely is a combination of a vibe, the sounds, the look and the feel of a particular environment. This is an element which can be easily made, and even better, be implemented anywhere.
Why not create this addictive kind of atmosphere into your own home? Dining-in can be a lot of fun. It's very easy to set a culturally themed meal and present it accordingly while wearing an authentic outfit in favour of the chosen type of food being made. It is far more personal to let your guests relax, put their feet up and let the good conversation just flow right around the room. You could have your friends talking for weeks to come about a new '6 uses for left over bread' recipe you found while online one afternoon and delighting them with your creativity.
Choosing to eat-in, instead of going out to a restaurant, is proven to be more affordable for most people. With the likelihood of an unexpected date or occasion, there is no pressure on having enough money or any reasons to have to apply for a small loan or payday loan. It's definitely quicker to organise and doesn't require any travel which helps with other costs - no petrol, parking fees of road tolls.

You're in the Throes of Dinner Party Planning - What Should You Serve?
Your dinner party planning is underway and you've come to the menu. What should you serve?
Whenever you are planning a party remember that one of the most important points of a successful party is a host that is free to mix and mingle with guests and enjoy the party as much as the guests do. So when you start your dinner party planning keep these things in mind.
Dinner Party Planning Menu "Rules"
Keep it simple
Be able to complete most of the preparation in advance
Stage all of your plate ware, serving dishes and utensils the day before
Use your oven - it requires little oversight and tending.
Consider hiring someone to help with clearing the table and clean up. (High school students can be a great help here.)
Menu Ideas
One dish meals are always a good dinner party planning approach because you can get it all together in advance and just finish it off as your guests arrive. If you want something a little more elegant however, consider these suggestions to lighten your load.
Serve just one appetizer that only needs to be heated and served or just plated and served. Good ones are pickled vegetables, olives, cheese cubes, nuts, or frozen puff pastry filled snacks that can be prepared the day before.
Purchase salad greens and dress them up with interesting add-ins that don't require any fixing - like: nuts, grapes, raisins, dried cranberries, toasted seeds, grape tomatoes, finely pre-cut vegetables, Chinese noodles, and diced water chestnuts. Then top it with a tasty homemade dressing you can make in advance.
Choose a main entrée that requires only final quick and easy cooking like a steak or chop. Or choose an entrée that cooks for a longer period of time in the oven and requires only final portioning and plating like a roast, Cornish game hens, or tenderloin of beef.
Serve one starchy side dish that can be prepared in advance and finished in the oven. Rice pilaf, Noodles Romanoff, or a potato casserole are all good choices that can be prepared, cooked, cooled and reheated the day of the party.
One leafy green or other colorful vegetable that doesn't require anything but cooking, buttering and plating can be a nice finish to an attractive plate.
Leave your dessert preparation to your local baker or choose something that can be fully prepared in advance with only cutting and plating to do at the time of service.
As your dinner party planning begins keep some of these in mind:
Principles of Menu Planning
Choose menu items of different colors and shapes of food to make an attractive plate. An all brown or all white plate of round balls of food may taste OK, but it will look boring.
Mix flavors - plan some sweet, savory, tart, and peppery items to add interest. Adding cayenne pepper to every dish can be overpowering. All sweet dishes can be just "too much."
Vary the textures of the food - plan something tender, something crunchy, something smooth, and something a little chewy to vary your guests' senses.
Have a variety of consistencies and ingredients also - If you're serving a sauce on one dish, serve the others un-sauced. You wouldn't want all soupy foods or to have the same ingredients, such as tomatoes, mushrooms, or nuts, in every course or dish.
Dinner party planning can be as complex or easy as you want it to be. Just remember that enjoying your party and your guests is a top priority for you and for them! Plan accordingly!
