How to Pack the Perfect Picnic

It's that time of year again, the ideal weather for a picnic. So get together all your friends and family and pack up for the perfect picnic. Picnics do take some planning so here are a few things you may want to remember to bring along for a day full of fun and enjoyment.

Picnic backpacks are a great way to ensure that you have everything you will need for your picnic. Things that you should include in your picnic backpacks are: a blanket, trash bags, sunscreen, insect repellant, antiseptic wet wipes, emergency first aid kit, and a cork screw (if you bring wine on your outing).
An outdoor fogger is a great item to bring to set off about 15 minutes prior to setting up your picnic to help keep the bugs at bay.
A bag for trash. If you're using a traditional picnic basket you might want to lay the trash bag at the bottom of the picnic basket to help catch any possible spills, you will then always have an extra bag in case you need it.
Make sure to bring cups, plates, napkins and silverware including serving spoons.
If your picnic backpack or basket is not insulated, then bring a small cooler with ice or ice packs for things that must be kept cool.
An activities bag with things like a frisbee, football, volleyball, or any other activity that you would like to enjoy at your picnic. If your picnic is at the beach you might want to bring a beach ball and some sand pails and shovels to make a fun sand castle.
Beach umbrellas are nice to have in your picnic supplies if your picnic will be out in the open with little or no shade.
Sunhats are another great way to help keep the suns rays from beating down on you, while enjoying your picnic.
For romantic picnics, you might want to bring some candles or other mood lighting, if your picnic will be an evening picnic. An evening picnic at the beach would be very romantic surrounded by tiki torches and rose petals for that special someone.
Again for romantic picnics, you may want to bring a bottle of wine. Don't forget the corkscrew and the wine glasses.

Some of the items listed above can be kept packed and ready well in advance of the picnic to avoid any added stress on the day of the picnic. For instance, the picnic backpack can be packed in advance with all the necessities and placed in the trunk of your vehicle, so there is no chance in forgetting it. A picnic basket can be packed with all the non food items well in advance as well, that way the day of the picnic all you have to add is the food. You can also get a mesh activity bag and fill it with all the activities and place them in your truck, this way you'll have half the prep work done well in advance and you can avoid forgetting anything that you may need.
