Why a Crystal Glass Pitcher is a Better Choice Than Plastic
Crystal cut glass is one of the most elegant things you can have sitting on your dinning table. When I was growing up my grandmother had a crustal pitcher that was engraved with her and my grandfather's name as it was given to them as a wedding gift, she treasured that pitcher and made sure only the best drinks went into it. When you poured a glass of fresh lemonade out of it it tasted so good, guess you can taste the love.
A pitcher is probably the most used glassware when having company over because for some reason friends and relatives are always thirsty, especially if alcohol is in it. So during a night you will see that pitcher hold a variety of drinks as the light from the chandelier glows up highlighting the sparkling cut crystal to make it seem so inviting as to say, "hey you, have a drink."
It is true that these crystal pitchers make the drinks taste better, even if it is all in your head it just gives that impression. One day I came across some kids selling lemonade at an event that they had just made, they were proud that they squeezed their own lemons and made it organic, not just some sugar powder mix in pouch. The lemonade was delicious, but hey were serving it out of a dark pitcher where you could not see the glowing yellow of the lemons, and guess what they had a lot of competition there to compete with. I suggested they use a clear glass pitcher, even though these were kids they seemed old enough and responsible enough to handle it without breaking it. This way a potential customer could see the sun hit the glass and let the lemonade glow like a diamond, thus making it much more appealing and driving more sales through out the day. The next day the children took my advice and used their mom's crystal pitcher and they increased their sales 3 fold, and I got free drinks because of my expert advice.
It is amazing how such a big difference one small thing can make. These crystal glass pitchers are relatively inexpensive and can last a lifetime (my grandma still has hers for going on 50 years now). Besides, they are not porous like plastic which can cause a variety of health concerns. Think how many years have you been drinking out of the same plastic bottles and pitchers that you wash and use over and over again, my gut says that is not so good so that is why I exclusively use a crystal cut pitcher to hold my many drinks of choice. One always filled with water for the fridge and one for special occasions.
