The limitless fun that can be had with good old Nerf guns should never be underestimated. Many children receive these tows as presents and charge through the house for the first few days firing them off happily. After a while however the get tossed aside, their potential lost. These toys are safe for inside use and can be used in so many ways to spice up high energy, children's games.

Kids have tons of imagination, they are just required to use so little of it, given the types of activities often marketed for them. Nerf guns are great alternatives to house spent in front of the television or the game system. They make perfect entertainment for days when the weather is less than stellar.

When you want your kids to stay active a great game to reinvent is the game of War. Have the kids divide themselves into two teams. One times hides and the other team counts to thirty to give everyone a chance to get in place.

Once thirty is reached the hunt is on. Team one slowly hunts team two down and picks them off with their artillery. If you have neon guns and a black light this game can be taken to a new level. Playing in total darkness or adding flashlights will kick the excitement up a notch.

At teen and pre-teen birthday parties this game can be played outside in the yard. Twilight or absolute darkness makes for hours of fun, fun, fun. Kids can tote flashlights or you can string Christmas lights in the yard for a little safety. This is way less expensive than paying for a laser tag or paint ball party. The impact of Nerf guns is also far more preferable to paint guns as well.
