How to Host a Great Taste Tripping Party With Miracle Fruit

What host doesn't want to consider themselves the hostess with the mostest? Well, you don't necessarily have to be the best, but it is nice to have a memorable get together that your friends will remember for some time. One of the hottest trends out there right now is to host a "Taste Tripping" party. In all likelihood neither you nor your friends have probably heard of one of these but read on and soon you will be planning your own memorable evening.

A Taste Tripping party is essentially comprised of inviting a group of friends over and having them sample a number of different foods and drinks before and after trying a Miracle Fruit berry. The difference in how foods taste after consuming one of these berries is quite remarkable and you will see this one your guests faces. Miracle Fruit has a protein in it called miraculin, which binds to taste bud receptors and enhances the ability to taste sweet. It works so well that often it's difficult to consume sweet foods after trying a Miracle Fruit berry as it becomes too sweet. The good news is that the effect does wear off in approximately 2 hours.

The key to a successful party is to have a variety of foods and drinks and make sure your guests nibble both before and after the Miracle Fruit. All the food should be cold as heat will break down the protein and the effect will wear off sooner and the more acidic/sour the food the better.

Some of your more adventurous guests might allow you to blindfold them after eating a Miracle Berry and let you hand them certain foods to try. This can sometimes be very funny and worth videotaping for a laugh down the road.

Since fresh Miracle Fruit is hard to come by, especially in North America, I recommend keeping a supply of freeze dried Miracle Fruit tablets on hand. They do typically keep for about 10 months and are easy to use as they just dissolve on your tongue.

Because Miracle Fruit is known to be safe, can effectively reduce the amount of sugar you consume and is fun to use your guests are sure to appreciate an invite to a "Taste Tripping" party.
