Dinner Party Idea
Mystery Dinner!
This is a great dinner party idea your friends will love.Here is what your menu should look like.
Your menu consist of 7 courses and 21 items each course your friends order 3 items each time they order.
1. sea foam---which is cottage cheese one package of pistachio pudding mix and crushed pineapple all mixed together.
2. snow & slush---is your mash potatoes and gravy
3. lover's lane---spoon
4. green weeny---celery
5. devil's tail---fork
6. foot malady---corn
7. puos opposite---soup ( i found homemade cream of broccoli soup works best)
8. turn & churn---butter
9. catcher's mitt---napkin
10. dracula's nemesis---steak ( I used swiss steak for this)
11. predicament---pickle
12. swamp water---coffee
13. bug's favorite---carrot
14. spys mush---applesauce
15. ivory cleaner---tooth pick
16. mother-may-we---cheese
17. mouse house---cottage cheese
18. cut throat---knife
19. maggot's delight---rice pudding
20. popeye's pal---olive
21. buckshot & B B's---frozen peas, shelled salted peanuts and sour cream all mixed together.
Now make up your menu without the ingredients listed of course and place your menu between two pieces of construction paper and put your guest name on the front. I find that 6 people for this dinner is perfect. You want to have a kitchen that is blocked off with a blanket and have incense burning so that your guest can't smell what you are cooking. Have all your friends find there seats. I always find if best if you don't seat couples together best to put them across from each other.
You will also want to have two people be your servers and you in the kitchen dishing. Have your friends open there menu and order 3 items marking down the first line with there pencil. When your servers bring you the menus the first time make sure they bring all 6 menus at once. Also you will want to stress to your friends not to tell the others what they order makes it more fun. If your friends don't order a spoon, fork or knife then they have to eat with there hands or with what ever they ordered. This is a blast for everyone you will want to record if if you can and watch it later.
