Every maid of honor's dream is to have a silky smooth hen do. However, ideally, that never happens. There will be couple of mishaps here and there, which need immediate attention and quick thinking. Here are some tips to mitigate disasters.
We are supposed to do a Hen do?
Happens all the time...There are chances that you might forget altogether that there was this bit of responsibility amongst your various others. So not to disappoint the bride, you can always throw a hen party at the last moment right at your house or some other personal location. Confide into a trusted friend and get to work.
Make a list of invitees who can make it to the hen party, call them and RSVP as soon as possible. Take into confidence a couple of them and request them to pass on the message to other invitees to hasten the process. Collect the money in cash or give credit and ask people to pay later if that is fine with you. Outsource the catering and drinks. Don't forget to inform the mother of the bride.
Did you invite her...I did not...
Decide the invitees after confirming with the bride to be. If she doesn't want someone to be there on her special day, do not invite that person. The would be bride's decision over rides everybody else's. So, listen to the bride!
The would be bride is on the verge of a nervous breakdown
Weddings can bring even the coolest of cucumbers to the verge of tears and anxiousness. So take it easy and do not overdo. If she does get upset, there should be the 'pacifier' in the group who can handle such situations well.
Oh... He is not the right man for you...
Alcohol is like Harry Potter's 'Veratiserum'. It can make you blabber all non-sense that you think about the other person and hurt people's feelings beyond repair. It would be a good idea to bounce of such potential dangers by volunteering to be sober and protecting the would be bride by keeping everybody engaged in some activity.
Bloody hell, we forgot to pay the bill!
Everybody is on the high and not even the responsible person remembers to pay! Well, the first person to be asked to pay in such a situation would be the would be bride! The treasurer of the Hen party has to sacrifice the booze a bit and be level headed to take care of such situations.
Hen night can be one of the most remembered nights for the would be bride. Make all the sincere efforts and put into making her feel special and making that day dear to her. Bounce of mishaps with quick thinking and careful planning. Most importantly, enjoy the day to the fullest and do not forget to be a bit naughty.
