Barcelona is one of the most important cities of Spain and in largeness, ranks second only to Madrid. Barcelona weekend trips should not be very hard to manage as the airport caters to almost every international flight, being the second largest airport in Spain. It has the typical Mediterranean climate, which is, it has dry summers and moist winters. Overall, the weather remains comfortable for the better part of the year and sightseeing is a pleasure. When you decide to go sightseeing, you should not miss the historical buildings and museums at any cost because it has some of the most breathtaking architecture in the whole world. The Sagrada Familia has of course become a symbol and the Columbus Monument is awe-inspiring. The Cathedral of Saint Eulalia is magnificent and Palau Reial Major and the Forum Building are the same. The Santa Maria Del Pi is a wondrous example of Gothic architecture while the Museum of Contemporary Art here is filled with amazing works by new age artists and sculptors. The Torre Agbar and Placa Catalunya are other beautiful architectures.

The city can also be called a city of parks and there are endless numbers of beautiful parks in Barcelona which are favorite spots for family picnics. Of these, the Diagonal Park is very famous. There are other historic, thematic and forest parks, all ready to entertain visitors with their beauty.
