When it comes to at home entertainment for kids, nobody does it like Disney. They are always original, even if the story is a remake, you are guaranteed that it's going to be a spectacular rendition; the music is always grooving, and the characters are unforgettable. Every child should have the opportunity to experience a Disney classic, so here are the top 5 Disney films that every child must see:

The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid is a classic tale of a mermaid who longs for life out of the ocean. She falls in love with a human and is given legs by the evil sea witch in exchange the mermaid's beautiful voice. This film is filled with great comedy, great animation, and music that is timeless and sure to keep your kids dancing until the very end.

The Lion King
This movie was critically acclaimed by a number of movie critics and has even been turned into a successful and award winning Broadway production. It follows the coming of age of a young lion cub in Africa. It has plenty of comedy with the lion's sidekicks Timon and Pumba and has a little bit of a love story as well. The music for this film won lots of awards, and was written by Elton John. Your kids will definitely enjoy this African safari set movie and will want to see more even after it is over.

Mulan
Mulan is an historic film because it is the first time that Disney created a female hero instead of a male hero. Usually, it's the princess who needs rescuing, but Mulan takes the idea of rescuing and turns it completely around. She's a Chinese girl who goes off to war with the Chinese army to battle the Huns and in the process falls in love. She, however must save her lover and the emperor from the Huns. This movie is great for both girls and boys and will certainly inspire them to defeat all obstacles.

Aladdin
Sand, magic carpets, lamps, and genies are the just a few of the things that make this movie spectacular. Aladdin follows the story of a poor beggar somewhere in Arabia. He somehow stumbles upon a magic lamp with a genie and is granted three wishes. Somewhere between wishes number two and three, he falls in love with the princess, fights a gigantic snake, and goes on a magic carpet ride. This movie is another one that has great music and a great story line that your kids are going to simply adore.

Toy Story
Toy Story is the first film of its kind using 3 dimensional animations to create a real world feel for a not-so real movie. If you don't get excited about the animation in this film, then you will get excited about the two toys that head it up: Buzz Light Year and Woody. They are the funniest characters that you will ever meet and go toe to toe for the love and affection of the kid who owns them. This story has lots of moral lessons and will make you cry, at least one tear.

So if you haven't yet seen any of these movies with your kids, then go buy them: you kids will certainly thank you for it.
