Group Game - The Perfect Game For Families & Groups of Any Size

Have you ever gone online and typed in: "group games" or "fun group games" and all you find are silly and childish games? I know I have! I get somewhat frustrated when I am looking for fun adult group games, but I get games geared towards kids or families with kids.

Well, I want to put an end to this once and for all! While there are many fun group games out there, I wanted to include just one of them (below) that is a blast for adults, parents, groups, etc. It is perfect for the next date night, game night, family night, party, or family reunion - but really for any type of small or large group game setting. Have fun, and let me know how you enjoyed it!

NOUN GAME

# of Players: 6 or more

Objects Needed: Nothing

Begin by having 3 people leave the room. Those remaining will choose 3 things to be acted out: a person, place, and thing. These "nouns" can be anything - any person, any place, or any thing. Then, player 1 of the 3 who left the room will come back in, while the other two who left will stay in the other room where they can't see or hear. Player 1 will then choose one of the people from the group who stayed, and that person chosen will have to act out the person. Without talking, the person chosen from the group will then have to act out the person (actors only get 30 seconds, and they can only act it out once). At this point, Player 1 does not guess who they think the person is; they will then ask a different person from the group to now act out the place. Following that, Player 1 will also not guess what they think the place is, but they will again ask another different person to act out the thing. After all 3 nouns have been acted out, Player 1 will still not guess what they think each noun is.

Then, Player 2 of the 3 who left the room will then come back in, and now Player 1 will have to act out each of the 3 noun's (the person, place, and thing)to Player 2. Again, no talking, and only 30 seconds to act out each noun. Player 2 will also not guess what they think each noun is, but will have to act out the nouns to Player 3. After player 2 acts out all three nouns, Player 3 will then guess what they think each noun is. Of course, it gets very funny when the acting changes over the rounds, or people do not know what one of the nouns are, but they have to act anyway.

To make the game more competitive, divide the group into two teams and keep points. So, 3 teammates will go out, and when the 3rd person guesses, that team will get one point for every correct guess. Then, the next team will send 3 out, and this repeats. The first team to score 10 points wins.

Group Game - A Fun Game For Family & Group Get-Togethers

This fun team game can be played with your family, with friends, for team-building or leadership activities, at parties, for Church or youth groups, or any other get-together! It is a combination of the classic game of Charades, but players will draw the words instead of actually acting them out. Enjoy playing this fun team game!

DRAWING CHARADES

# of Players: 4 or more

Objects Needed: Papers, Pencils, Bowl (& Possibly a Blindfold)

If you are not a good artist, you'd better hope your teammates are great guessers! To start, have each person playing take 5 slips of paper and write on them various things: famous person, familiar place, common object, movie, song, animal, etc. (it can be anything). Then, place all the papers in a bowl, and divide the group into two teams (or teams of 3-4 players on each team). To begin, have one person from each team come to the front of the room.

These two players (or more if there are more than 2 teams) will then together pull out one paper and each will look at this same paper. They then will go back to their team, and at "go," they will have to draw what was on the paper. When drawing, there is absolutely no talking aloud by the person drawing, or writing letters and words to describe what is being drawn (only drawing). And, the person drawing must keep their eyes shut while drawing - no peaking! Each team will then be in a race to be the first team to guess what it is their teammate is drawing. The first team that guesses correctly will receive a point. Start another round by having each team send up a new person to pull a slip of paper out to draw. This will repeat, and the first team to 15 points is the winner!

Family Game - The Perfect Game For Any Family Or Group Get-Together

Are you planning a family game night or looking for a fun family activity idea? Have you played each of the family board games one too many times and need something different and new? Perhaps you are planning a party or get-together with some neighbors or friends? No matter what the occasion, ages of those playing, or dynamics of your family or group - play this fun game for your next game night or get-together!

ACT THE ADVERB

# of Players: 3 or more

Objects Needed: Nothing

To begin this extremely fun acting game, choose one person to leave the room. All the others playing will collectively decide on an adverb. Examples might be: humorously, obnoxiously, quietly, forcefully, etc (there are certain adjectives that work just as well). The person who left the room (referred to as "it") will come back in and randomly choose people to act out certain verbs. But, the people acting must act out the verb in the manner of the adverb. For example, if the adverb chosen by the group is quietly, "it" may ask someone to: eat, walk, dance, sing, read, jump, etc. If walk is the verb chosen, the person who is acting will have to act out walking, but do so quietly. And, there is no talking allowed while acting.

"It" will then try to guess what the "adverb" is. After the first person acts out walking, "it" will guess what they think the adverb is. If they do not correctly guess quietly, they will ask another person from the group to act the adverb, but this time they must chose a different verb. Now, someone may have to read, but do so quietly. If "it" does not guess the adverb correctly after the second acting, they only have one more chance. After the 3rd person acts a (different) verb in the manner of the adverb, if 'it' still can not guess what the adverb is, they do not receive a point. If, however, they do guess correctly what the adverb is within the three guesses, they get a point. Each person will take a turn being "it" by leaving the room and having to come back in and try to guess the chosen adverb - each round the group will choose a new adverb to be acted out. The first person to score 5 points is the winner!

Easy Ways to Entertain Children

Children aren't too complicated when it comes to having a good time. If you're new to babysitting and you're a little nervous about entertaining the kids, you shouldn't be. There are tons of easy ways to keep them distracted while their parents are out for the night. You may need to be a little creative, but most traditional forms of entertain will suffice for the evening. Check out my list for suggestions.

Pop in a good movie. This is by far the easiest way to keep little ones distracted for a least a couple of hours. Just make sure you choose the right film. If you aren't sure what the current children films are out, stick with some classics. "Jumanji," "The Adventures of Robin Hood," "Babe" or "Toy Story" are all great choices. Just make sure to have some yummy snacks on hand as well.

Play air hockey. Assuming you have an air hock table on hand, this can be a great way to have some friendly competition with the kids. Make it into a tournament for added fun and then reward the winner with a prize. Just keep it something simple, like allowing them to choose dinner or the next movie, so that no one gets too jealous or upset.

Make art. Bring a bag full of crayons, color pencils, glitter, construction paper and glue. Then make the evening an arts and crafts party. The kids will be full of excitement and wonder when you empty out your bag of goodies. You can choose a theme for the artwork or just let them be creative all on their own. There parents will also love coming home and finding that you've put their kids up to something productive.

Put on a play. You can bring some costumes or create them out of sheets, random items of clothing and hats. Then you can either write your own simple play, or stage a classic in the living room. Allow everyone to have time to practice their lines and be sure to take some pictures, or better yet, videotape the play so their parents can watch the whole thing later. This will be a fun night for everyone involved.

Kids don't need a lot to have a good time. Just think back to when you were a kid. You could have hours and hours of fun with just a cardboard box and some pillows. So don't over think it and just have fun. The kids will appreciate your attention and your fun spirit if you just relax and plan ahead a little.
