Its Time to Feel Good About Yourself

How else would one survive the everyday stress in this fast-changing chaotic world we live in? Perhaps it is best to start discovering how to feel good about yourself, besides, there's a saying that "a better world starts with a better self", right?

An improved self is often equated with beauty. And beauty in turn is linked to a slim and fit figure. So you're kind of sensing where this is leading to? Prepare dear friend, for I am going to introduce to you the various effective ways on how to feel good about yourself.

The very first step here is actually accepting who you really are. And this means that if you are actually considering losing weight (in a healthy and monitored way that is), then the foremost thing is accepting your decision to lose weight out of your own free will. You should also bear in mind that this is the very foundation on what comprises the numerous doctrines on how to feel good about yourself.

Now, if you're already decided, and your mind is all made up in losing some weight to acquire that slim and healthy figure, it's time to know which weight loss program or technique suits you best. You are the priority here so you should always choose not just the best plan, but also the most proper and most appropriate for your body. So our second step in this 'how to feel good about yourself' article is discovering one of the variables that's gonna complete the formula of your weight loss plan.

On several weight loss programs, one may use fat burning pills. To explain it simply, these fat burning pills are helpful to those types who are having a hard-time 'burning' the calories and fats of the food they eat, meaning, this is best for those who have low body metabolism rate, that they can not seem to sweat easily. So in a nutshell, these pills aid in the process of 'flushing out' the fats and calories that one easily ingests.

I assure you that these pills would be strongly helpful in feeling good about your would-be slim self because these are considered to be one of the fastest ways on attaining the smashing bod you've been dreaming about. What's more, they are also ranked as one of the best weight loss pills.

Of course you should always embed in your head that your relentless questioning on how to feel good about yourself, can only be satisfied if you realize that simply gulping down any kind of pill is NOT the only factor on improving oneself. One should also have sufficient exercise and one should start erasing the word 'over-indulge' from his/her vocabulary. Besides, any weight loss program wouldn't be as effective as it says it is, IF you are not cooperative enough to actually make it work, right?

So dear friend, remember this (and if it could be possible to stamp this to the nearest forehead near you, then do it): the only way that you could acquire that fabulous bod, with the help of your chosen weight loss pill and appropriate weight loss program, is through helping yourself feel your best. So if you really understood the simple message of this article, then the next time you meet your girlfriend, you'd be the one confidently sharing the simple ways on how to feel good about yourself.

AMOA - Laguna Gloria Art Museum

One of the most beautiful and popular art museums in the Austin Area is the Laguna Gloria Art Museum, which is an Italian style villa that was originally the home of Henry and Clara Driscoll Sevier, and is situated on the shores of Lake Austin in the west-central Austin area.

The original home that later became the museum was built in 1916, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places; the museum was the first home of the Austin Museum of Art and was named for the natural lagoon which was originally considered part of the Colorado River prior to the construction of Lake Austin. The land on which the original home was built belonged to Stephen F. Austin in 1822, and he intended to build a home there himself, but never did, and his descendants later sold the property to Hal Sevier, who was the editor of the Austin American Statesman, and his new wife, Clara Driscoll, in 1914.

The Seviers completed their home in 1916 in the style of an Italian Villa after traveling to the Lake Como area of Italy on their honeymoon, and after years of gardening and planting trees, flowers, and foliage, Clara Driscoll donated the homesite to the City of Austin for the new museum. In 1961, the home was converted to an art museum and began offering art classes as well as exhibits and other events and attractions to the public.

In 1983, an additional 5,300 square foot facility was built specifically for the art school, and in 1992, the museum changed its name from Laguna Gloria Museum to the Austin Museum of Art, although four years later the Austin Museum of Art relocated to Congress Avenue in downtown Austin. Despite the move, Laguna Gloria remained home to the Art School, which in 2003 was renovated again and added exhibit halls featuring local and regional art, among other exhibits.

Laguna Gloria is right next door to Mayfield Park, a lovely park adjacent to the Driscoll Villa which is also on the National Register of Historic Places. Laguna Gloria is located just west of the intersection of Loop One, also known as the Mopac Expressway, and West 35th Street, and is also very close to Camp Mabry, another local Austin attraction and historic military base. AMOA-Laguna Gloria, as it is now known, offers outdoor and indoor venues, and is situated on twelve acres of scenic and carefully landscaped grounds, a mile of which are on the shoreline of Lake Austin, and the museum is only 15 miles from downtown Austin and the main Austin Museum of Art structure on Congress.

Many weddings, concerts, parties, and other social functions are held at the museum and grounds, including numerous fundraisers for local charities such as AnyBabyCan and others. Since the museum has various event spaces including an amphitheater, sunken gardens, and a gazebo named the Temple of Love with an original rock trail and gorgeous walk to and from the museum proper, it is the perfect location for most outdoor as well as indoor events.

In addition to the above, there is also a four seasons garden with statues from Italy brought back by Clara Driscoll, and there is also a solarium on the grounds as well as a front oval lawn with a fountain for larger events. The sunken gardens include an original sculpture by local sculptor Charles Umlauf, who is now very well known nationally and is for whom Umlauf Gardens in Zilker Park was named.

AMOA-Laguna Gloria is a must-see location if art, natural beauty, and historic museums appeal to you, and it is also one of the most scenic and diverse locales for holding or attending an event or wedding, so be sure to visit Laguna Gloria and enjoy the many sculptures, exhibits, events, gardens and other attractions when in Austin or the surrounding area.

Buffet Table Setting Tips - Setting up the Room

There's just a ton of buffet table setting advice on the web. All you have to do is a quick search-- soon you'll be overrun with advice on how to add height to your tables. Or how to arrange the dishes you'll be serving "just so." Or how to decorate the buffet table like this, or provide these plates, or arrange utensils so they're easy for your buffet guests to take with them.

And all of this is good advice. But before you can follow any of it, you first have to know one very basic thing: how to set up a room for a buffet reception or dinner party.

But that's easy, you might say. Just chuck a table against the wall for the food, set some plates up on the end, and set up another little table for desserts and drinks. Done. After all, how much could go into simply arranging a room for a buffet dinner?

Actually, more than you might think. The arrangement of the space in which the buffet is held affects the entire buffet-- a well-arranged room reduces spills, looks nice, and makes things easier on your guests. Want to get it right? Read on for three easy-to-follow tips on preparing a space for a buffet dinner.

1. Buffet Table Placement The first instinct of many hosts and hostesses of a buffet dinner party or reception is to place the buffet table against the wall. This keeps it out of the way and allows more room for seating. But if you have enough space, the middle of the room is the best place for the buffet table. Why? Well, if you only have one buffet table setting, it allows equal access from both sides of the room. It also makes it easier to serve from both sides of the table, and allows mingling, snacking dinner guests to chat together in closer proximity to the table. This works especially well for finger food buffets.

2. Distance the Drinks Table. Sure, occasionally a plate is dumped over during a buffet dinner, but it's drinks you really have to worry about. The best way to prevent nasty spills? Set the drinks table up across the room from the food buffet. This will keep traffic to a minimum, minimizing the chances of guest collisions and nasty drinks spills. As a bonus, it may also prevent guests from trying to juggle loaded dinner plates in one hand and drinks in the other. They'll generally visit their table to drop off a plate of food before getting drinks, minimizing the chance of spillage. Even better, provide water and wine on the tables themselves, and make getting up to get a drink completely optional.

3. Know the Seating Arrangements. Unfortunately, most of us weren't blessed with tons and tons of space in which to set up a buffet table. And when space runs short, one of the first things to go is seating. If you don't have room for designated tables for your guests, chances are they'll have to perch on chairs, sofa-arms, or whatever piece of furniture they have handy. If this is the case, think of rearranging the dining area temporarily for your guests. Add extra end tables or TV trays to the space, and move chairs and other seating closer to tables, shelves and other places for guests to rest cups, plates, elbows, whatever. There's nothing worse than being perched on the end of a chair with nowhere to place your drink so you can eat your dinner. Think of your guests. Even if that TV tray looks silly in the middle of the room, put it there anyway.

Picnic Safety

It's a lovely day and what better way to spend your time than loading up the car and setting off to the countryside for a family picnic.

In theory that's a great idea, but in practice, there are many picnic safety elements to take into consideration to ensure your day is as enjoyable and trouble free as possible.

Listed below are a few picnic safety pointers.

* Before laying out the blanket and unpacking the food and drink, have a good look around the site you have chosen making sure there are no obvious problems on the ground and surrounding areas.
* Picnic safety affects everyone, and although the enjoyment of the picnic is intended for all family members, children have a tendency to stray off sometimes and do their own thing. Make sure to keep them involved with setting up your picnic and within close proximity for the duration of the day
* Be sensible with your choice of clothes for your picnic. Depending on the landscape of your site, you may need to wear clothes which will protect you from bramble bushes or bracken. If you are planning to stay out all day, take a warm top and a pair of jeans with you in case it comes in a bit chilly later.
* With picnic safety in mind, it makes sense to check in with the park ranger or station if you are picnicking in a supervised area. It is best to inform the ranger of your location so he will know where to find you should an emergency situation arise. If swimming is one of the activities you will partake in whilst on your picnic, the person in charge of the park will be able to tell you about safe bathing and likewise, which areas are off limits.
* Most of us love animals and you are likely to come across various species whilst picnicking. You should make sure your children are educated about proper behavior towards animals, both the wild ones and the ones which belong to other picnicking families. Once again, the park ranger will be able to advise you about type of animals you may encounter in the park.
* Keep an eye on the weather - you may need to pack away quickly if the rain decides to fall.
* Picnic safety is not just about location. You are going to be eating some delicious food throughout the day so you must ensure you always handle food hygienically and keep it chilled and out of the sun. If you do not do this, it can lead to stomach upsets or even worse, food poisoning. Have lots of water available to prevent dehydration.
* Take care of your skin, and especially the children's skin when sitting in the sun for a long time. If you are not used to the rays, make sure you use a high protection sun screen and spell your time in the sun with time in the shade. Wearing a hat is always a good idea too! Just in case you get too much sun on your head, a hat will stop the dizziness and nausea.

So now you are aware of all the picnic safety tips, as long as you put the tips into practice, there is absolutely no reason why you should not have a fantastic day out with the family.
